Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using Hycompanion

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Hycompanion ("the Service", "the Plugin"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.

Hycompanion is a plugin developed by Noldo, licensed under the MIT License.

2. Description of Service

Hycompanion provides AI-powered NPC (Non-Player Character) functionality for Hytale servers. The Service includes:

  • A Hytale server plugin for in-game AI NPCs
  • A web dashboard for NPC configuration and management
  • Backend services for AI processing and conversation handling

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must:

  • Create an account with accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Be at least 13 years of age

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

4. API Keys and Third-Party Services

Hycompanion operates on a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) model for AI services:

  • You must provide your own OpenRouter API key to use AI features
  • You are responsible for all costs associated with your API key usage
  • We do not store or have access to your API keys in plain text
  • Your use of OpenRouter is subject to their terms of service

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Generate harmful, abusive, or inappropriate content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with other users' enjoyment of the Service
  • Reverse engineer or extract source code

6. Data and Conversations

Regarding data handling:

  • We store conversation summaries to enable NPC memory functionality
  • Full conversation content is processed through OpenRouter and not retained by us
  • You retain ownership of your NPC configurations and content
  • We may use anonymized data to improve the Service

7. Subscription and Payments

Some features require a paid subscription:

  • Subscription fees are billed in advance
  • You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period
  • No refunds for partial months
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice

8. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of France, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
